What a crazy weekend!

My weekend started with a day off, which was nice, I guess. I couldn't sleep the night before and by the time I finally got to bed it was 5am. Ugh!!! So I called in, which I so didn't want to do. I woke up around 1pm and still feeling pretty groggy. I got some lunch and started working on my cheer uniform. I used a standard cheer uniform pattern and just modded the fabrics, the underlaying and the portions used. I fused it together making it into a vintage one piece. I'm pretty excited, but I sewed it backwards, so once I can fix it, I will be even more stoked. Hopefully I'll have it ready by the bout on June 22nd, which is rapidly approaching! Friday evening ended with having a couple of my friends come over and model some of my new things. We had fun considering that we had no daylight to do the shots I wanted and my throw away cameras posing as the photographer. Thanks to my sweet photoshop software, I was able to recover most of the pics.

I woke up late as usual and had a small breakfast. I had to attend a meeting in the afternoon, but it was no big deal. I was pretty stoked though about putting some local craft fairs together. FUN! I dropped off Brandon at work and he took so long, so while he was at work, I went to nearby thrift store and found some awesome vintage fabrics and patterns. I also went to hunt down a gift for my gay husband who was turning 30 that day. I went to Secret Oktober and found some cute chinese platform shoes for his party and an awesome shirt. I also added some red and black checkered Vans and those flame pants that I made. They fit him perfectly. Everything was just moving along so quickly that day, I hardly had time to prepare for his preparty at Rain and nearly forgot everything. I made it out there, fashionably late, but I looked hot in my blue dress, that I made with a matching wig! Hot! I danced the night away with tons of fabulous men, who loved my outfit. Later that evening we left the club to go to a clubhouse that was specifically rented out for his party. This was the most awesome clubhouse ever built. Two stories, with marble everything. The foyer was as big as my living and dining room put together. The living area was just gorgeous with its vaulted ceilings, in the back was a small L-shaped pool and jacuzzi area and up on the second floor was a large theater room. It was like something from Cribs! I loved it. I had to leave though, it was getting very late and I needed to get back to the other side of town at 3:40 in the morning! Whew! I don't think I even got to bed until about 5am again!

Sunday 06/01/2008:
Waking up late is very nice if you get a chance to do it. I'm hoping that one day I'll have my own shop and the earliest I would get up would be 10am. I love to sleep and I'm a night owl. I had an awesome brunch with my husband and it was so nice to spend a little time with him. We went shopping and found a lot of awesome items at Big Lots. We also got another couch, which has so much more room and is very much more comfortable. I was getting ready for my busy Sunday night and I couldn't believe how much I had to do that day! I went to the bout and it was an exciting derby bout and I'm so glad I went. I went dressed to the nines in my best Cherry Bomb Punk Rock outfit. I had a shredded vintage Smashing Pumpkins shirt and a late 80's side showing t-shirt skirt with black opaque tights and diamond lime green fishnet tights. I was smoking hot! I even got some awesome contacts from my outfits. After the game, I moved onto Emo's where I saw my favorite local band The Lions play, they were playing their Homecoming show. It was very nice to see Matt again, looking as hot as ever. He waved at me a few times and afterwards, gave me an awesome sweaty hug. He's totally my Perry Farrell! I also got be surrounded by various eye candy: Gian from Amplified Heat and Flush Button.... Good times! I was passing around a patch I made for Baxter and it seems everyone was calling my name by the end of the night, they loved the patches. I felt very good about making them, especially for Bax. I miss him very much. Houston asked me to make some more for him and I'm going to donate more for his benefit. I headed out after the show to Headhunter's where I got sing drunken karaoke with a bunch of drunk rollergirls. hahaha, so funny! By the time I got home it was well after midnight and I had to be at work the next morning! I took a warm bath to soothe my aching legs and took some Advil PM to help me sleep. Fun times and definitely one for the books, hopefully I'll get some pics in soon!
